AMP Reset Preferred Securities Trust

7 Mar 03 | Issue 122

We have also received a few queries about AMP's reset preference shares which we recommended when they floated. If the company were to fall into serious financial trouble then these instruments would be unlikely to escape. Combine that possibility with the fact that top quality stocks like Suncorp Metway, the big four banks and Telstra are paying very attractive fully-franked dividends and the case to switch becomes a strong one. It's a safer course of action in our view, even though it will involve realising a small loss on the investment. Subscribers looking for long-term security and income should SELL because we see BETTER VALUE ELSEWHERE.
